The Piper Transport is a celebration of a little mixed terrier, Peppi now Piper, who came up from West Virginia on the Cleo Transport two years ago. Piper is a wonderful example of the awesomeness of rescues. She has brought in endless joy, companionship, and taught her family that sometimes a rescue saves you. This little homeless dog was 3 days from being euthanized. Wade Piper was born about January 7, 2016 and weighs about 12 lbs. He is an adorable little boy that would have likely died in the south because he does take a bit of warm up time as so many Chihuahuas do, but once they love they love all the way!!! It only took him a couple of days for him to love us and want to be on our laps in the evening. Wade is such a snuggler that we often argue who gets him. Someone is going to be very happy with this little Chia!!! He was living with another Chia from the same transport and we feel he'd do fine in a home with another dog or as an only dog. Even though he is not for every home, maybe no kids, we know there is a home out there for him. We'll be learning more as we go and so will you. The southern shelter staff feels it is embarrassing to ask the person dropping off their pets as the reason is so often financial. Also, we want to warn everyone that tiny dogs often need potty floor pads throughout life as they often don't have the ability to hold it as big dogs do.

Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
